The Rooms list
displays my existing
rooms, if any.
Click the Create
Rooms button to start
the wizard.
There are two screens to
the Create Rooms Wizard.
On this first screen, you
provide the room
numbering information.
You could just create one
room, or the quantity of
rooms for the entire
building. I'll create 25 rooms.
Enter the starting
room number.
You can enter a room
number prefix or suffix.
My rooms start with "T."
You can change the room
number increment. For
example, if you enter 2, the
rooms will be numbered
T901, T903, T905, etc..
Let's continue to the
second screen
The Create Rooms Wizard is all about
options when adding your room records.
For example, if I click the Finish button right
now, all of the rooms and their single door
records would be added to the building.
You also have the option to add room
and door information to the fields below,
with the option to key up your doors,
This wizard, also lets you
add additional doors to
your rooms, if you want
to track multiple doors to
rooms.
Watch how I add and edit
the door numbering.
I've changed the first door's
number to T901.1. Now, I'll
add the second door.
Done, so T901.2.
Now, I'll edit the T902
room number, and the
T902 door number.
Done.
If you need to add more
rooms and doors later,
just return to the Wizard.
You can select multiple
rooms that have "like"
information.
I have selected four rooms
and will assign the data
that they share in common.
Don't worry, if you don't have all
or none of this data available,
because you can always add it
later and then mass-assign it
after your rooms and doors have
been added.
The Hardware Assignment field, lets you
add either a hardware group to the selected
doors, or just a hardware cylinder.
Note: If you want to key up a door in
SiteMaster, you must first add a hardware
cylinder (cylinder product) to the door. If
not, this field is not required (i.e., non-
locking door).
I will be assigning this
Schlage hardware
cylinder to all four doors
Now, I will make my
additional assignments
that are optional.
If you need to remove a
field assignment, click the
Clear Record button.
Additionally, I'm going to key up the
four new selected doors, but this is also
optional, because you can use the
Rekey Rooms Wizard later.
Here, you select the
Keyway of the
Cylinder/Core records
that you want to assign.
To look up your cylinders, you
can enter a starting symbol, such
as CA, or the actual record, such
as CA1, or display all cylinders
under the keyway by entering a
question mark.
I have looked up and
selected the CA3
cylinder to assign to
the four doors.
The arrow button
makes the assignments.
Here they are, above. By the
way, the left to right arrow
button is used to remove an
assignment.
I'm done for now, so I'll
finish and check the work.
The records are displayed in
the Rooms list. Now, let's
jump to the actual records.
I'll look up all "T9"
records.
Here are the two new
doors that we created for
room T901. The additional
information has also been
assigned.
The Pinning Screen
for the CA3 cylinder
assignment.
On the Door Configuration
screen the hardware
cylinder has been assigned.
