Load Allegion Registered Key System (CSV)

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

You can import your Schlage and Falcon Key System(s) that have been ordered from Allegion. Prior to importing, the program provides you the option to create initial key quantities,  serialize your keys, and assign them to the appropriate Manufacturer's System and Key System. During the import process, the program also creates all of your cylinder/core records as well as Pinning Charts and Pinning Screens. The files to be imported should be followed by the ".csv" extension.

Important: Before you import any file into SITEMASTER 200®, make a backup copy of your working dataset for safety purposes. See Backing Up and Restoring Your Data.

To Load an Allegion Key System File:

Warning: Opening the registered key system file that you received from Allegion and saving the file, may corrupt the data in the file. By saving this file, Excel may automatically make changes to the data that affects the import. DO NOT OPEN AND SAVE THE FILE. If you've done this, request a new file.

1. From the pull-down Utilities Menu, pick Import/Export Utilities, and select Load Allegion Registered Key System (CSV). This displays the Import Screen.

2. Click on the Browse button on the File to Import field.

3. Use the Import from Procom System Window to locate and select the key system file on your computer that you received from the factory. The file extension must be ".csv." Note: Procom is the name of Allegions's system for developing registered key systems.

4.Select the file (.csv) and press the Open button. The path of the file is displayed in the File to Import field.

5. If you want the imported keys to be serialized keys (i.e., AA1 #1 and AA1 #2), check the Import Keys as Serialized option. There are two different methods that you may use for key serialization. See Key Number Serialization.

Attention: It is important to select or deselect the Keys as Serialized option before you import, especially if you're importing the file into existing data. If you change your mind after the import, you may only be able to change the serialized status of your keys one at a time.

6. To create an initial cut key quantity for each key number that's imported, type that quantity into the Number of Keys to Create field. For example, the job is supplying you with three keys for every key number. You would type in a quantity of three. Otherwise, leave the quantity set to zero if your quantities vary.

7. Use the drop-down button on the Manufacturer's System field to select the proper Manufacturer's System for the keys that are being imported. The program comes pre-loaded with all of the Schlage and Falcon systems. If you are not sure, find out from Allegion Customer Service or from the person who supplied you with your system.

Important: Select the proper option:

8a. Existing Key System(s) is already added > When you select the Manufacturer's System, the Key Systems' drop-down box is displayed as Add New. If you've already added any Key Systems under that Manufacturer's System, use the down arrow button on the Key Systems field to select the correct system that matches your import file.

Or,

8b. New Key System > If you have not yet loaded an Allegion Key System file, then you will need to edit the "Add New" name in the Key System field by typing in your system name. You can type in any name, but avoid using symbols in the name. Attention: If your version of SiteMaster is not the Lockshop Enhancement version, then later you cannot edit the Key System name, so make sure you type it in correctly.

9. Click the Finish button to start the import.

Note: If you import a system with construction keying then the Construction Master(s) will be included in the pinning of your cylinder/core records. When or if you no longer need the Construction Master(s), you can delete it in the Key Numbers screen. Doing so, removes it from the cylinder/cores.

After the Key System is Imported

Note: For SiteMaster 200 v4 with Lockshop Enhancement when importing an Allegion Registered Key System, the Create System Keys wizard for that specific system is disabled. This wizard is still available for all other systems that you create.
